A small (postcard sized) sketch of wounded (double amputee) Civil War veteran Lewis Martin. Martin served with the Illinois USCT 29th, and was severely wounded at The Battle of the Crater before Petersburg, VA, July, 30th 1864. Martin died in Springfield, IL in 1892.
