“I do this work for the common people and part of that work is creating a general awareness of such problems as they exist because my work is beyond class, religion and creed.”
-Abdul Sattar Edhi
A sketch to honor one of the greatest humanitarians ever to live—Abdul Sattar Edhi. Edhi was born in Pakistan in the 1920s. He was penniless and begging on the streets when he dedicated his life to helping others in need. Starting in an 8×8 room with sparse donations, he single-handedly created Pakistan’s largest charitable organization. The Edhi Foundation continues to operate food kitchens, rehabilitation homes, shelters for abused and abandoned women and children, and clinics for the mentally handicapped and drug addicts. This wonderful man passed away on July, 8.
